This privacy policy explains how NovaSoft Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 31 694 025 379), the operator of the novasoftshop.com marketplace, collects and handles personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you place an order or create an account we collect your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number (if provided) and order details. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment providers (such as WooPayments and PayPal); we do not see or store your full card number. If you contact support we keep the correspondence. If you subscribe to our emails we keep your email address and subscription preferences. Like most websites, we also collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, including through cookies.
How we use it
We use your information to process and deliver orders, provide customer support, process returns and refunds, detect fraud, meet our legal obligations (including tax record keeping), improve the site, and, only if you have opted in, send marketing emails which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Who we share it with
Because NovaSoft Shop is a marketplace, we share your name, delivery address, contact details where needed for delivery, and the contents of your order with the supplier who fulfils it and with shipping carriers. Some suppliers are located outside Australia, which means your delivery details may be disclosed overseas for the purpose of fulfilling your order. We also share information with our payment providers to process payments, and with service providers who host and support the site (such as our hosting provider and Jetpack/WordPress.com services). We do not sell your personal information. Where you buy a product listed by an independent marketplace vendor rather than from our own catalogue, we similarly share your name, delivery address, contact details and order contents with that vendor so they can fulfil and support the order, and vendors are required by our Vendor Terms to use that information only for that purpose.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies that are necessary for the cart and checkout to function, and analytics that help us understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though the store may not function fully without the essential ones.
Storage and retention
We keep order records for as long as required for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, and account information for as long as your account is active. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Your rights
You can request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete information we are not required to keep, or make a privacy complaint by emailing [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
