A good stand should hold the device securely at a useful angle without making everyday controls awkward to reach. The most important details are device size, case thickness, base stability, hinge design and whether charging cables can connect while the device is mounted.

Measure the device with its case

Use the dimensions and weight of the device as you actually carry it. A thick protective case can change whether the lower supports fit and whether the device’s centre of gravity remains stable. Compare those measurements with the stand’s stated range.

Match the stand to the task

A compact folding stand is convenient for travel and video calls. A heavier desktop stand can be steadier for regular tapping or use with a keyboard. A floor or bed-side holder solves a different problem and needs careful attention to base, clamp and arm stability.

Check adjustment points

Single-hinge stands are simple, while multi-joint models offer more height and angle choice. More joints can also mean more opportunities for movement, so look for firm adjustment and a base designed for the device weight.
